Let's get right to the point. With a huge digital smile you should perceive on your computer screen, we can announce that Rita Pocsai 5d from Hungary won the SENKO CUP World Go Women’s Championship 2025!
She defeated Dawn Sum 4d from Singapore in the final match. Congratulations!
This is the very first time a European player wins this event!
It means that next year, Rita shall be the 8th player of the professional SENKO Cup, thus playing with the top players of Japan, Korea, China and Taiwan! This is super exciting!!
Regarding the other games, well, all our girls won the first game, unfortunately Olesia lost the semi-final against Dawn Sum, and Manja was facing Rita in the other semifinal, so one of them was sadly forced to lose.
We gathered a few kifus and photos thanks to the JIGS team (Frantisek Caha and Manja Marz).
Let's try to reconstitute the event.
As we add some SGF (don't mind the indicated level in these), please go to the round you wish to see directly by clicking on it, otherwise you may have to scroll a little and may hurt your fingers and not be able to smash stones on boards anymore.
